Dr. Julian Bösel Dr. Daniel Laskowitz has spent the last 15 years looking at how apoE works. His lab has recently developed a peptide made of five amino acids (CN-105), which is able to cross the blood-brain-barrier, giving it the potential to be distributed as a treatment. Laskowitz just completed a first phase clinical trial and found that CN-105 administration was safe and well tolerated. A phase 2 study will look at whether this drug improves outcomes in patients with brain hemorrhages and will be run by the DCRI with Duke as first of the sites. There will also be four other sites.
