English: “From Terrorism to Complementary Medicine”
By Masao Nagayama, MD, PhD, FACP, FAAN, FNCS, Professor, Department of Neurology, International University of Health and Welfare
Graduate School of Medicine
I am pleased to announce that the Japanese
subsession titled “From Terrorism to
Complementary Medicine,” will be held at
the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS) 16th
Annual Meeting. This session was made
possible by Gretchen M. Brophy, president of
NCS, and Jose I. Suarez, chair of the annual
meeting, the theme of which is “Neurocritical
Care Without Borders.”
In this session, diverse topics are presented in Japanese with
simultaneous translation into English and English language
PowerPoint presentation. The keynote address, “Complementary
and Alternative Medicine: A Japanese Perspective” will be
presented by Professor Toshinori Ito, a big name in the fields of
pancreatic surgery and evidence-based integrative medicine. Ito
will discuss this topic also considering the neurocritical care and
disaster medicine.
Other diverse topics will be presented by Japanese investigators in
their native language, and Dr. Gentle S. Shrestha, famous Nepalese
neurointensivist, will give a lecture entitled “Practice in a Country
With Terrorism and the Needs of Global Collaboration in the
Education of Neurocritical Care,” because Japan lacks terrorism.
We welcome many native English speaking and global attendees
on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 8:30-10 a.m.
