These accomplishments have required numerous
volunteer hours to achieve, but we did it together! It
has given me great pleasure to tell the world all we
have done and all that is planned for the future. I look
forward to continuing my service to the society as a
past president in years to come and working with all of
you as we continue to move the field of neurocritical
care forward.
One very special thanks is necessary before I sign off.
As you can probably tell from my previous articles,
family is very important to me, and I hope you take
time to enjoy every moment you can with your loved
ones. When the going gets tough, your family will
always be there for you. I could not have completed
my presidential responsibilities without the support
of my family. The role of NCS president comes along
with personal sacrifices, including many missed soccer, volleyball
and tennis matches, as well as some birthdays and family events.
(Thank goodness for social media and video teleconferencing!)
My family gave up a lot for me to serve as NCS president, and they
did it with grace. My wonderful husband, Don, was so supportive,
and my girls, Gabby and Sydney, were always there for me when
I needed a hug. We also made some great memories traveling
abroad together on a few occasions, and having my family meet
my NCS family was icing on the cake! To say the least, all of us
made some great friends along the way and these friendships will
be treasured forever.
Thank you for your support during my NCS presidential year. It
has been a rewarding adventure that will never be forgotten.
Sincerely,
